But this is not what I am getting at today. People sometimes talk about a person being wrong-minded or right-minded. That is, there thinking is on track or off track. Now we are getting closer to what I am getting at. Here is the deal. If you donít have the mind of Christ then you are off track and conversely if you do have the mind of Christ then you are on track. Letís look at some scriptures.

*†† (1 Cor 1:10 NIV)I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.

*†† (1 Cor 2:9 NIV)However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"--

*†† (1 Cor 2:16 NIV)"For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

So what is the mind of Christ?

*†† (Mat 7:21 NIV)"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

*†† (Mat 12:50 NIV)For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."

*†† (Mat 26:39 NIV)Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

*†† (John 10:37-38 NIV)Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. {38} But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."

*†† (John 14:20 NIV)On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

*†† (John 14:23 NIV)Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

*†† (John 14:30-31 NIV)I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me, {31} but the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me. "Come now; let us leave.

*†† (John 20:17 NIV)Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"

The next two verses sum up the entire concept of having the mind of Christ, of being in your right mind.

*†† (John 8:28-29 NIV)So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am the one I claim to be and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. {29} The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him."

Our goal then is to be Christ-like and God-like! You can start by remembering the bumper sticker, WWJD. But to know what Jesus would do you need to know Jesus, you need to read the word of God, you need to pray and receive the Spirit of God. You need to repent of your sins and fight the good fight. You need to subdue self-interest in favor of Christ interest. You need to learn the way of love because God is Love! When you fall you need to get up because perseverance will get you where you want to go if you persevere for Christ. Consider what Christ persevered for you. When you are down look up. God will never forsake you. Trust in God because He is trustworthy. Have faith. Faith is not knowing with your mind but knowing with your heart and spirit.

*†† (Heb 11:1-3 NIV)Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. {2} This is what the ancients were commended for. {3} By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

If you want to be in your right mind do this.

*†† (Mat 22:37 NIV)Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'

I conclude with this exhortation from Paul.

*†† (2 Cor 13:11 NIV)Finally, brothers, good-by. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
