Does it really matter?

Life revolves around priorities. Priorities are all about what matters and what matters most.

We have choices and that involves choosing. It seems obvious that choosing well is important. Our choices have effects that influence outcomes for ourselves and often others as well. Lives and wars have been determined by choices. Marriages and careers have been determined by choices. Does it really matter? Yes, it does.

We need to ask ourselves honestly, should I care? Is it important? What does God think? God often works on the If-But formula. If you do this then I will do that. But, if you donít do this then I will do something else. Does it really matter? Absolutely, there are no do overs in this life. Does it really matter? Apply the bumper sticker slogan and you will be on your way to answering the question. WWJD, what would Jesus do. To know the answer to that question you need to know Jesus! Here are a few quotes that will offer some insight.

*†† (John 8:31-32 NIV)To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. {32} Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

*†† (John 13:34-35 NIV)"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. {35} By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

*†† (John 14:23-24 NIV)Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. {24} He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

*†† (John 15:9-14 NIV)"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. {10} If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. {11} I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. {12} My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. {13} Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. {14} You are my friends if you do what I command.

*†† (Deu 8:3 NIV)He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

*†† (Prov 30:5 NIV)"Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

*†† (Mat 4:4 NIV)Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

Does it really matter? Yes, everything you do really matters. Whether secret or not it all matters.
