I Believe

*   There is a God in Heaven - (Eccl 5:2)  Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.

*   He is Omnipresent – There is no where to hide, (Jer 23:24)  Can anyone hide in secret places so that I cannot see him?" declares the LORD. "Do not I fill heaven and earth?" declares the LORD.

*   He is Omnipotent – Yet He is not corrupt

*   He is Omniscient – Yet He chooses not to know certain things

*   He is without beginning or end – Yet He is always in the present

*   He is immortal – Yet one who had immortality gave it up

*   He is Wise beyond limits – Yet He relates to the simple

*   He is merciful – Yet He requires accountability

*   He is righteous – All His ways are right

*   He is just – Yet His love opens paths to Him

*   He doesn’t make mistakes – God said it and that settles it, whether I believe it or not.
Rule #1- The boss is always right. Rule # 2 - If the boss is wrong see rule #1

*   He is the creator of heaven and earth and everything therein – That means I belong to Him

*   He sustains His creation - (Psa 75:3)  When the earth and all its people quake, it is I who hold its pillars firm.

*   He cares for me - (1 Pet 5:7)  Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

*   He intervenes in the affairs of men and of nations - (Prov 16:9) In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.

*   He is without peer - (Isa 45:5-6)  I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me, {6} so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting men may know there is none besides me. I am the LORD, and there is no other.

*   He is love - (1 John 4:8 NIV) Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

*   He is holy

*   He is spirit

*   He is truth

*   He is worthy of our worship - (John 4:24) God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

*   He wants us to live forever - (2 Pet 3:9)  The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

*   The wages of sin is death - (Rom 6:23)  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

*   All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God - (Rom 3:23 NIV)  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

*   God has a Son named Jesus - (John 8:54)  Jesus replied, "If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me.

*   Jesus lived with His Father (God) before taking on flesh - (John 17:5 KJV)  And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

*   He gave up the glory He had with His Father to become a man – That we might become as Him, sons of God.

*   Jesus lived an exemplary life; He never sinned - (Heb 4:15)  For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin.

*   He qualified as my redeemer since he was a man - Lev 25:47-48)  "'If an alien or a temporary resident among you becomes rich and one of your countrymen becomes poor and sells himself to the alien living among you or to a member of the alien's clan, {48} he retains the right of redemption after he has sold himself. One of his relatives may redeem him:

*   Jesus became a perfect sacrifice, a Lamb without blemish

*   He spilled His blood and died that I might live - (Heb 9:22)  In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

*   Redemption is a gift that we do not deserve and cannot earn. It is available to us only because of God’s love and the willingness of His Son to die for us - (John 15:13-14)  Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. {14} You are my friends if you do what I command.

*   Redemption is a gift with conditions attached

*   (Mark 16:16)  Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

*   (2 Pet 2:20)  If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.

*   Everyone will be resurrected – Some to eternal life and some to eternal death - (Rom 6:23 NIV)  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

*   The saved have a glorious future - (John 14:1-3)  "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. {2} In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. {3} And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

1.     Given that God owns us and loves us and sustains us

2.     Given that our Lord died that we might live

3.     Given that we have a glorious promise of a glorious future

4.     Given that all we need do, is to do what we by right - should do

5.     Given that the load is light and not burdensome

6.     Given that the choice is ours alone

7.     Given that our Lord is available to help us at all times

8.     Given all these things and more …

I believe that with all He has given there is no reason that we should fail to follow Him and claim the gift He wants us to have.

*   (Mark 13:13)  All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.

*   (Luke 9:23-24)  Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. {24} For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.

I believe this is not a price to be paid but an opportunity that must not be lost.

(Eccl 12:13-14)  Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. {14} For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.
